Growing up in the D.C. area, I was pretty fortunate to be able to hear a lot of live music – everything from rock to jazz to country, to the amazing National Symphony Orchestra, which I heard countless times. To me, the NSO was as good as it got.
So imagine my surprise when I recently got a call from the NSO, asking if they could perform one of my compositions (“Our Wings Have Caught The Wind”) at their Labor Day concert. To say I was honored was an understatement.
The concert was held on September 3 on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol. The NSO also performed works by some other up and coming composers (Duke Ellington, Brahms, and John Williams). 😉
P.S. If you’re interested, you can watch a video of the Nashville Symphony Orchestra performing this piece last year.

“Elijah and George” – Trailer
Based on letters and diaries from the period, “Elijah and George” is an adventurous, at-times humorous, heartfelt story about family, freedom, and home. An impossible adventure begins when a young boy sneaks out of George Washington’s encampment to find his father, a soldier who does not return from the Battle of Monmouth. A dangerous game may save the young boy’s life and bring him home.
Scheduled to begin shooting in 2021, I was pleased to be able to create the music for the trailer for this film, and am looking forward to scoring the film itself. Current plans are to premiere the film in 2022. Stay tuned!
Music Track only (if you’d like to listen to just the music without all that pesky dialog or sound effects getting in the way… 😉
